Shooting on the 3rd but 4-5 is open, so yeah I can help.

Jon would be awesome. So the point is (a) No on ever wants their camera to go down (b) If I was rich I would have a 2nd body (+2 Epics) and (c) no one want to loose a client for a glitch.

I feel like this is a really win win situation. The person with the job feels at ease and the person who's camera is on the shelf has the possibility of making some money.

Question is what is a fair and reasonable percent to give the back-up body if it end up working on the job? What is a big enough incentive to be on-call and willing to fly in the body if needed?

50%? 60%?

Im trying to see it from both sides.....

EDIT: things to consider:

1. The rate needs to be discussed beforehand. Obviously we all want 1k/day for our kit but really that is rare.
2. Firmware needs to match
3. ETA on an emergency delivery should be established the night before - as we all live different places and shoot different places too.

An idea:

A back-up body program based on a buddy system of sorts. I am not sure if you guys do serious commercial work or not but I have some jobs coming up and would love to sleep better knowing I would have a back-up body on-call if needed. The way it would work if my camera goes down on a job I make the call and you bring in your body for a large percent of the camera day rate on that job. How does that sound? Anyone want to take me up on this for a job I have May 4-5?

Jack, that's a great idea. I know Jon is your plan B, if you need a plan C, I'm in.

Now I'll need a back-up body for a job on May 12-13, anyone available? If something goes wrong I make the call and you bring in your body.

Just a cool little graphic the owner of the studio we are using made up... he's a pretty cool guy and owns a scarlet himself.. he's not on the forums though.

Cool count me in. I'll be representing Astronaut, we have two Scarlets. I'll check if my two partners can make it as well, so it coule be a +2.

It appears we are already using the group as it is supposed to be used and we haven't even met each other yet... back up body program was one of my thoughts when I invited everybody out to meet and discuss the camera and get to know each other... Its just safer to prescreen people you give your camera too, especially if they already broke the first one ;)
