I had nothing to do with this, but found this nearly unwatched gem on Vimeo. It's very cool to see the differences.

I like the #1 on both Chocolate and Tobacco, but find #2 and 3 really go off the rails, unless you need an extreme look.

I think Antique Suede is gorgeous, and very light. #1 is barely noticeable while 2 and 3 are pleasing. Hell, I'd love to see an Antique Suede 5.

I'm a very big fan of the Chocolate Series and when I need things to look "hot/humid" the Antique Suede are a priceless. Tobaccos are just too strong. Even the #1. Some claim that digital filters are making glass obsolete, but if I am going for a certain look, I'll bake it in real good with genuine glass.

Just used a Chocolate #1 for a short - really loved it. The DP that introduced me to it described it as "makes everything look...kind of awesome." Right he was.

    Cool samples.
If properly exposed, you would be surprised how much of that look you get but just simply shifting colour temp. in post.
With Red I try to stay away as much I can from any filters in front of my glass.

Thanks Shawn. Excellent find. I agree that Tiffen should consider a fractional Tobacco series (1/8, 1/4, 1/2).

I just hope this doesn't devolve into a Tastes Great/Less Filling debate about production vs post filtering.

That would be the 85 and 80 series of filters.

Tobacco is a bit like the 85, but diff. Chocolate is way different, and Antique Suede is affecting other colors and is just flat out its own thing.

Would be more useful if the exposure was compensated. Can't see the highlights without the filter. Chocolate #1 does look pretty nice!
