SIDE HANDLE NO MENU DISPLAY ON LCD..

With the side handle , remote , and touch LCD connected should I be able to see and menu items from the side handle LCD I thought the LCD from the side handle would show some of the main menu settings. My side handle LCD does not show any menu settings only blank screen

Any suggestions or is this normal

You should be able to see something on the side hand LCD.

Are you able to adjust settings with the side handle? Was it like this when you received it?

Check all the contacts and pogo pins are clean and undamaged, and the side handle is properly attached, seated and tightened up.

Yeah just received it Yesterday and I call REd they had me force upgrade the firmware again and that didn't work, then had me send the log file in now I'm waiting on a call back .

#1 - Awesome to see another Falcons fan.

#2 - I had the LCD on my side handle go out once. The light would come on put there was no info displayed. Turning the camera off and unplugging the battery seemed to fix it. Although yours never working is probably a different problem. It's awesome once it gets working. Keep us posted as to what red says about this.

We just got our side handle this week. Yesterday during a shoot, I pushed the button to light up the LCD and shortly thereafter noticed the LCD was blank. Rebooting fixed it.

Same problem here. We received ours some ten days ago and on the first try it worked fine. Once i powered the camera down and rebooted, it didn't display any info. I thought it was due to our old software. So now, a week later I installed 3.0.0 and it still doesn't fully function. Some of the buttons work, but not all, the LCD lights up, but doesn 't display any info.

Tried rebooting, switching to battery power, reattaching, tightening the handle - all the obvious things...but nothing.

All the connectors seem to be nice and clean.

Any ideas?

Well bad you are having the same problem and good I wasn't the only one, I sent my side handle back to red haven't heard anything yet hope they will just replace it or at least they can find something wrong therefore if any one else have the problem they can at least correct it before any other SH go out .

Well post my solution once I hear from support

Please do so. I really hope there's a solution which doesn 't include me shipping the handle or the brain back to HQ, since it would probably take weeks. Since my camera is in Estonia (read: the far side of the world).

Just wondering if there any news on this. Today on set the LCD of my side handle stopped showing info. All buttons work, the LCD light comes on. Just no info displayed. It was working perfectly fine!!
