Once the first Redvolt was drained and I swapped it with a fresh one, the camera started to have more and more episodes of overheating. Of course I was relying heavily on the redvolts (four in total). The ideal scenario would be to have the v-locks. But this does raise the question about how effective the sidehandle is as a power source for the camera. The way I see it is you either have the option for the very occasional tight shot where a minimal rig is required, in which case all is fine as is, or you can actually have the option to shoot for some time using the redvolts only. In sensitive documentary settings where you may need to get in quickly this may be the only option you have and to have the fan kicking in at 100% in a quiet room can be a bit off putting.

As I couldn't afford a Scarlet yet, I don't know .. could you use a beltclip v-mount and have the sidehandle working? Would keep your setup nearly minimal ....
