  1. #1 Heavy motion blur shooting 5k. Any advice?
We have been shooting a FF project 25fps and 1/50 sec. shutter speed and have very heavy motion blur. The scene was greenscreen where people walked across the picture for about 6 meters. Now we have is big issue with blurred pictures even with small movements of the characters and need some advice if this is a known problem with the Epic-X.

I have shot similar scenes with my Red One and have never encountered such problems.

    Any help??

Did you shoot the same exposure time before? It looks normal to me if she's walking fast.
    Regards,

My Red is called Vertov after a Russian avantgarde filmmaker, a pioneer in modern cinematography, a true revolutionary who later suffered under Stalin's bureaucracy.

HDRx was off. I shot at the same exposure before and the blur was definetely less on my Red One using 1/50th. Altogether it even look out of focus in motion but is not.

Yeah that doesnt look right for typical motion blur. Its almost like open shutter footage. Are you sure you were shooting 25fps and at 1/50 shutter? Dumb question i know but that definitely doesn't look like normal motion blur.

Also what was your compression ratio?

Her left leg looks like the only thing sharp from this image.

Looks like 1/25...If you can upload a short clip it will be much easier to guess...

Ir definetely was 1/50th. I have imported the clips into FCP and now it also shows jitter no matter in what speed the talent walks. Compression ratio was standard 8:1. Will make a small clip and try to upload.

Curious if there are any updates to this problem. Did shooting in 4k help the issue? Was anyone able to test?
