  1. #1 Any one else have this problem?
Epic M audio was working, now isn't. Tried it over multiple firmware builds, all the 2's and are on 3.0 now, multiple mics, reset camera bla bla. The cables are right, mics are all phantom power. All we can get from the camera is a constant popping noise. Even when there is no mic plugged in.

Any solutions/suggestions. Not an epic problem (see what i did there...), just would be nice to have audio sometimes.

Can you send us ( RED tech support) a LOG file and maybe a Quicktime of the audio expected from RC-X from the .R3D ?

Went out on a job today as a matter of fact, and the Epic turned its nose up and took zero sound on-board (has worked previously before the latest firmware upgrade). We had a sound recordist recording everything separately so it was no big deal breaker, but I had a Rode plugged into channel 1 wanting to get a guide track, and the recordist sent a feed into Channel 2 as well -- zero sound. Channels went green indicating mics connected, but no levels. Zilch, other than some random noise. No big deal, other than it was this particular recordists first experience with an Epic and unfortunately they were extremely unimpressed/underwhelmed/incredulous. (Liked the form factor of the camera though, and triple thumbs up to the images.) Epic-X by the way.
