What's the holdup with .R3D support?

Maybe they don't wan't to include a codec that can't be supported in real time for most users so they force transcodes?

    Strange.

Seems like FCPX is going to be a zombie on my computer. If what is rumored in Pro Apps comes true at NAB . . . it won't die!

Zombie. That's a good term for it on my computer too at the moment.

I love hate it. Sooo many beta gotchas. Yet it is now my primary editor. This thing is bloody powerful. The keyer is damn good. This alone is perhaps the biggest reason I use X. I spend far less time waiting for keylight footage beieng rendered out of After Effects.

Hmm Avid wants you to transcode most of the time, seems to work well :)

i read here that a bunch of pros pull their R3D's through RCX with a light grade and immediately transcode into ProRes to do all other work. If FCPX gets their ProMojo back . . . gotta say, I was a big fan of FCP7 and still haven't bonded completely with PP.

    FCPX: she's a bitch to me . . . but those legs

I didn't know what to think of FCPX. I thought to myself, I'm an editor damn it! I gave it a go... not going back to 7.

Premiere's new keyer is also nice/fast (but no reason to change if you're happy with what you've got).

Damnit. Just add the R3D support. Can't believe they still haven't added it.
