I learnt Nuke back to front and was going to make it my primary composting tool. I like Nike for multi layered 3d compositing. But being brutally honest. After effects kicks its arse for speed for everyday 2d compositing by so much it's not funny. Instead of having to do 4 to 6 actions in Nuke to do something as simple as blur or contrast adjust... In AE it's only 2 actions. I'm Very quick in both programs. To test myself i did the same comp in both programs. I tracked a mountain range and city in the scene. Nuke took me 35 minutes. AE took me 12 minutes for the same result. For graphics...for get it as AE kills nuke.
Im not going to stop using nuke as it does have a great keyer and is good with muliti 3d layers. But really 90% of my work I'd rather work in AE. Because its simple an super fast!
Nuke is still a great program. Especially if you like to work with nodes. But is much much slower to work with over all.
Im about to go through cs6 premier at NAB. If from edit to AE is super easy to get from one to another and speed grade is actually worth using... (fingers crossed) then I think I'll be a ADOBE user only.
Looking forward to hearing how you go Mark. Let us know your findings :)
This looks fantastic! I'm eagerly awaiting the CS6 Creative Cloud to have access to the entire Master Collection for only $50 a month. Insanity!
Very excited for this, a couple questions. Do we have confirmation on if RedGamma3 and RedColor3 will be ready to go in this for launch? Also Release Date?
Thanks!
ADOBE does not play fair.
I believe it's scheduled for end of May, though it may be sooner.
