I got an email from Post Production Buzz saying:

"The exciting NAB 2012 Autodesk Smoke news that I’ve hinted about is beyond Hot! So Hot, in fact, that it won’t be announced until Sunday April 15, 2012 at 3:00pm PST.

    It’s sensational! I assure you of [...]"

Anyone have a clue what this might be about?

No one knows as of yet. I'm a heavy Smoke user and I can tell you that I really, really hope that they don't screw this one up.

Hoping they incorporate Smoke and Lustre bundled for $9,999.00 on the Mac with Kona output support. There is my NAB speculation.

If you mean does anybody know details about the big secret, they're probably under an NDA and not going to post here. If you mean the announcement, it's about the unveiling event on Sunday

I am not a Smoke user, but I am intrigued about the idea of a super App for editing and effects, so I signed up for the event to see what it's all about.

Smoke is already something that people would call a "super app." It's not an idea, it's reality. My fear is that Autodesk jumps on that "app." wagon, "streamlines" the best GUI in he world and Smoke becomes a FCP-X on steroids with templates and all the stuff I don't want.

But then there is the possibility that they don't screw things up and give Lustre a new life inside Smoke. The only thing I ever missed in Smoke was RT grading.

The announcement page called it a super App, so I think you may not be very pleased...
