Red Epic/Scarlet Bag?

Stu,

I currently have a think tank bag that all of my stuff fits in.
Its just really annoying to have to spend several minutes getting set up.

The Tamrac bag that i linked was more for the design not the size. i just want to be able to whip my camera out and go when i need to.
So if there was a camera bag that i can still be wearing while i take my camera out that is what i'm looking for.
Its the fact that i have to stop...set the bag down...take the camera out...attach the screen and outrigger...turn it on...thennn be ready to shoot.

So if there was a Tamrac like bag that was big enough to facilitate the Epic/Scarlet form factor, that would be perfect.
Like i had mentioned earlier, it might be something that i have to make from scratch. Which i'm willing to do actually at this point! haha.

I got this one for the boat and truck run and gun shoots I like to do. Can't use it for hiking, but it's great to have the camera all set up (except for the lens of course) and just pull it out when I see something I want to shoot. Have a couple of backpacks for airline travel and hiking.

Yep those are the best of the "video-cam-specific" run-and-gun style bags Mike!
That particular model is prob bigger than what we need for our shorter Scarlets, but conceptually that is the type most equipped to just yank out a pre-assembled camera I think. At least, from what I have see so far.
I have the betacam version of this bag at 24" long (the above one is 28") and ITS too big so maybe the Portabrace DV-spec versions would do?? Trick (for me) is they need to be TALL enough to fit (my RED is 10 " Hi).

Going to go to a Sports ware house store and see if there is any hunter/field bags i can adapt tomorrow...

Hey, nice find Shaun.
KATA site, annoyingly, does not seem to note the _dimensions_ of the bags, so makes judging which model to use tough. but this is the general idea I am looking at.
Have emailed them for details....

A more pricey option but I know works as posted on another thread but I forget where. Is the Petrol bag Deca Dr Bag 5, larger than the Deca Dr 4. Can take a fully kitted Scarlet/Epic with MB & FF. plus has that really nice LED lighting strip. I don't why I need it but hey it has kudos value as opposed to the light from mine or the c.a.'s I phone .

In regards to the Bolling bag I posted earlier, I think they take internet orders ? I think paid a massive $70 !

I use the Manfrotto "LINO" Manfrotto Pro VII Backpack.
Currently, the kit also includes the side handle, tactical top-plate and the tactical top-handle.

My Pro VII Backpack contains:
SCARLET-X w SIDEHANDLE, TACTICAL TOP-PLATE and TOPHANDLE w Monitor PRO 5.0 mounted.
SSD Reader w SSD Cards
2 Zoom Lens (24-70 F2.8 L & 16-35 F2.8L)
3 REDVOLTS & 2 Blueshape Vmount Battery & Vmount Battery Plate

that's all I need ... but it's heavy!

I have one of these Kata bags but it looks like they have been discontinued. It's great for keeping the camera fully built. I have a Arri MB-20 on my Epic and it travels nicely in the medium bag. LCD, follow focus etc are all on the camera ready to go. It's not for air travel though. Here's a link: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc..._Man_Band.html

You might want to look around and see if anyone has one in stock. The smaller one will work if you're using a smaller mattbox.
