Any one know how you feed the dvi ? is it for an sdi>dvi like aja's box or just 2nd output from gfx card.

Looks intresting for a interim colour monitor.

You can feed the DVI either way... Although, it will probably be direct from a DVI port on your video card in most cases.

The main issue I have with most of these "color accurate" LCD displays is that they use the same 8bit LCD panels as every other consumer model. Just based on the specs they posted, I can tellyou this one is using the LG/Philips 24.1" gen-3 WUXGA panel. You can't use the display to check motion for film/24p as it only displays at 60Hz. It may have 14bit internal processing, but so do many common displays on the market. The new HP 30" and Dell 30" have 14bit processing.

Outside of the color and brightness drift sensors, this display doesn't offer anything over consumer models. Theoretically it just saves you the pain of having to calibrate every couple days, you might be able to go once a month. ...Most newer consumer level displays have tons of controls for color, brightness, contrast, etc... IMO, the Dell 30" with it's controls available via USB has some of the most flexibility I've ever seen in a display. Unfortunately, the Dell software that goes with it is crap and you have to manually tweak profiles and settings to upload to the monitor when calibrating.

Anyway, if a 24" 1920x1200 LCD @ 60Hz fits your needs, this would be a good choice. Most good online vendors sell these complete with colorimeter and calibration software for about the same or slightly more than a 23" Apple display.

Somebody told me that this LCD is just extremly overpriced consumer model from better brand and that bundled colorimetr is just piece of junk in comparsion with ohter ones.

Our technics just decided to get rid of all that LCD junk and bought huge CRT Sony HDTV monitor with 2 x HD SDI for helluva of many... what you see is what you get

The specification of the CE240W-DI is EXACTLY the same as the standard CE240W, except that it has the added advantage of being able to support a 24-25 frame rate (48/50 hertz using the digital signal ) for the moving picture industry.

Its pretty ridiculous and even then these monitors have some technological problem with flickering of picture or so :angry03:
