I just want to make sure I'm reading this right because you didn't quote which question you were answering - was your post in reply to this:

-Will HDR-X be possible at 4k with Dragon and Scarlet?
-Will be possible to shoot 5k,4k,3k,2k and 1k without cropping with Dragon?

Because if so... that's huge news.
Just wanted to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding.

Nobody really knows...
If I was to make an educated guess, I'd say that they are being sold to schools for a very fair price.

I'm wondering, how is it you know for sure the latitude and definitive frame rates without overheating of the Dragon sensor without actually having one there for testing? Are you able to give any insight into that testing/crafting/manufacturing process?

We have sensors.. but way before getting sensors out of the oven you develop the spec into the sensor design. With simulations and having smart engineers you have a pretty good idea what is going to happen before you even go into fab, and once you start getting test sensors back you validate. That is an incredibly simple explanation of the process... but should give you an idea of the process.

My concern with the MLogic option is heat issues. It doesn't look like there's much ventilation, so if you're transcoding footage for a long time such as overnight will it start to have serious performance issues from heat or even get damaged? Not sure the other TB options have much better ventilation though either. has anyone seen these in person and can comment on that?

MLogic is run by the co-founder of G-Tech so I trust that ventilation/heat management will be state of art.

For the last 6 months we took a pause and listened to our customers. We built what our customers felt was missing. The new product you saw at NAB was a reflection of that..

After NAB It is cloudy out there in the market... a sea of stuff. At first.. I thought it was going to be easier for the customers.. more choices. But then i realized its actually getting harder. I expect to see many standards rise and fall very quickly over the next little bit.. companies come and go. Even the most valuable company in the world that was built on the backs of professionals looks completely different right now than it did just a few short years ago.

In the end.. we just want you guys to have the best tools to go out and shoot. Trust that we will keep worrying about whats inside the camera , so you can focus on worrying about what is in front of it.

At least one way they're being used is that they're being sold to educational institutions as battle tested units.
