PCIe SSDs have been around for years. What is promising is the SDK integration. Not sure if this will benefit Premiere Pro users unless you are working with uncompressed 4K material? Wouldn't SSDs in RAID get you the same result? One SATA III is certainly slower than PCIe x4, but not 2 SATA (or more), and there are many more of those.

Todd we've visited this topic last year.
Where I couldnt get a single software jockey to admit they knew about the AFP/SMB 2GB QT file limit problem.
Its not like back in the day when they had real pros running these shows.
But my experience is more SIGGRAPH than NAB.

Back on topic, since we're talking about this Fusion option, anyone remember the ICE cards from the good old days?
We had one for Avid (I think) but I was looking at the DPS chips to help speed up renderings for AE pre CS.
    Just being nostalgic sigh....

I don't get it... the PCI SSD solutions offer 1000 to 900 mb/s if I have the right info. I get around 800 mb/s form my SAS RAID. Is there an element I'm missing?

This feature would be REALLY helpful (and it seems like it'd be a simple fix). Adobe, we'd like to be able to export a big sequence as individual clips .

Is there a scripting option in Premiere Pro?
Maybe that can be easily done with physical cuts or markers.

It's rather simple in FCP....LIKE THIS:
go to project broswer & create a new empty bin- call it say Export Clips
Click anywhere on the timeline and thpe Command+A to select all clips
Drag the selected clips from the timeline into teh newly crated "Export Clips" bin
...you then see a Creating Master Clips dialog box while it is transferring the clips

Now, control-Click on the "export Clips" bin an from the drop down meun choose Batch Export
click on the Settings button at the bottom of the Batch Export window and make sure you set your destination for your clips as well as checking the USE IN AND OUT checkbox--otherwise it will export the entire source clip...not just the in/out of each clip

When all this is done, press Export button and it will then export your newly edited and colored clips to the new destination as individual clips....this should be something Adobe can EASILY integrate....but waiting is killing me.

.....Adobe - PLEASE!!! you are forcing me to continue using FCP for this...

Thanks David it was you as well as a few others.
I guess we've all moved on and not had to worry about this issue.
With REDRAY and the 4K Projector, I can honestly say we wont be rendering to a whopping QT for any large multi-display set-up anymore ;)
