Prime lens kit, which focal length options would you prefer?

Yep, quite sure. Prices for the Panchros are far higher than the CP.2s (for obvious reasons), and given that I got a very good deal on the Zeiss lenses and could only just afford them at that - it's a bit of a moot point.

A set of RPPs was the only other real option, but apart from being terrifically sharp they don't do anything much for me - and more importantly (by most accounts) don't rent out well here (hence my concern with making my Zeiss set as appealing as possible).

CP.2 primes won't rent out well either, which is why you should get the Cookes. When people rent, they rent what they want not what they just happen to own, it's important that you understand the difference.

The big question is do you want a set of lenses that will rent out to people who cant afford to own them, or do you just want to get a cheap set for your own use.

If Cookes were an option, I'd consider them. But they're not, so it's a moot point. The lenses arrive tomorrow.

I'm kinda surprised they don't rent out well wherever you are though - I gather they do quite well down here. Especially on productions shooting with Red Ones, F3s, C300s and cameras in that price range (heck the last five Epic shoots I've been on have all used CP.2s, and one in-between them was using ZF stills glass).

So they seem to be doing a fairly good job of cornering the mid-tier section of market from what I can see.

At any rate, if I can rent them out in between my own shoots, that's all I'm looking for - I just want as appealing a set as possible.
