    I have looked through all of the instructions and cant find it, there are lines on each audio channel in the bar, what is the level of each (db), which line should I aim for, what is 0 etc. thanks

    The manual notes on page 12:

    To assist with audio reference level setup, the camera provides a color-coded Audio meter in the Graphical User Interface. Meter range is –36dBu to +20dBu (-56dBFS to 0dBFS) with audio input type and audio input clipping indication.

    I find it's best to be conservative, and allow peaks to go no hotter than about -10dBfs, with the input limiters off. My preference is to record audio separately and provide a scratch track to camera.

    thanks, any one else have any info?

    yes its color coded but that doesnt help me much. i need some numbers! i really dont care the lack of detail in the manual.
