Just make sure to set white balance on your object and set your iso accordingly :)

These cameras arent magic, and youd be surprised how often post houses just export before any grading occurs.

Always get the picture as close to what you want on set as possible, at least in terms of ISO and colour balance.

Nothing wrong with setting up a preview look entirely, as long as your DP is monitoring in RAW.

Ok guys talk is cheap , lets see your favorite looks out of your redcine! So we can apply it to our existing footage in redcine and then export it to the camera.

This happens all the time - the post house does a quick transcode to ProRes without doing any set-up in RedCine, and then they discard the RAW files never going back to them for final colour correction. Getting the meta data look as close as possible when you aren't (even if you are) handling post production saves headache / heartache / finger pointing later; and (in my case anyway) makes me look better to the ad agency client because I 'saved' them some bucks at the post house.
Can't believe I get paid to do this.
If I don't own it I rent it...

    Hey Everyone,

Okay I used my trusty color chart and my lovely wife and created a few looks for people to try out. They should turn out best shot at 800 iso and of course with the correct color temperature setting for the lights you're working under. The color temp is particularly important as most of the looks are subtly warmed or cooled and all are a bit more saturated. Also tried to tint out that little green spike the camera seems to give. You can download them all at http://client.fuzzymonstermedia.com/ and then download the Red Camera Looks folder. Let me know what everyone thinks. I will be starting to use these in real world setting soon. Let me know what you guys think in your own real world.

Oh forgot to mention that to get the best results with these looks you have to turn on user curves in the settings.

Thanks Greg. Would have posted the ones of my wife but I have been forbidden. I like your Greg Cinema look too. Very nice. I think I will continue to tweak but this is a good start. Now I can get on set, have these loaded in my first mag and let clients pick. Then adjust for their specific taste. I will of course tell most of them that doing it later is the way to go but most will not listen to me.
