I "would consider run and gun these days" to be any shoot without a plan, shot-list or scout where the DP has more like a field producer type telling them what to shoot and not how to shoot it, with limited time and very little crew. Sliders @ PVC ghetto dollys are totally fair game. hmm... for example, here's my documentary/runNgun reel, which was all pretty much by the seat of my pants :(

I was moved by your piece on the elephants, use of compelling narrative VOs and a sharp cut to dubstep. You're right up my ally, PVC, fair enough. Life happens, outside of extensive planning there's a whole vibrant world to be discovered. I see what you mean by "run & gun," now. Glad I hassled ya :)
