Some REDUSER members may have seen 21st Century 3D's new BX4 beam splitter 3D rig at NAB, but today we did some hands on steadicam testing with 21c3D veteran and avid REDUSER member Pedro Guimaraes. Although the BX4 is still a prototype and many weight saving measures have yet to be implemented, initial results were very promising. The rig with EPIC-X, RED 18-50 (the Angenieux Optimo DPs were occupied) c-motion cvolution and Denecke 3DSB-T weighed in at 58lbs including the GPI Pro sled. A very manageable configuration. I imagine Pedro will provide a comprehensive review shortly, for now here are some pictures.
