I think it is hit or miss. I purchased two button mics.. one sony and one no name brand one and both didn't work.

I had one of these: http://www.meritline.com/mini-microp...--p-38156.aspx cheap microphones lying around, so I tried it. Works fine for scratch audio.
this mic did NOT work on my Epic, however, Olympus ME-52W did work just fine... well, fine for scratch audio, because of the fan...
the mic works for me, although the fan noise is dramatic if you simply plug it onto the body. Nonetheless, good enough for music video sync. Good find Tonaci!
yeah, it is best to place the mic somewhere else on the body. still fine tuning some slick mounting solution. For now I just have it velcrod to the top plate. :)
Thanks Tonaci, Finally! a confirmed plug and play scratch mic.
I get a really bad hum if I use the supplied cable, or a third party cable to get the mic away from the fans. Anyone else?
are there any more videos featuring this mic online (without the one made by Tonaci)?
I used some gaffers tape and attached mine to the back of my LCD.
