Yes, restart solves most problems. Doing a black calibration is also a good practice.
Does the R3D show the same artifact or is this just in the monitoring path? If so, it could be a cabling or port issue...
The R3D files won't play back when this happens to the screen.
Did you send a log to RED?
Try to problem solve by Saving a log first - Restore and blackshaded the camera at slower speed, see if it help
Had something similar happen to me, but it stuck there permanently... had to send it into Red :( I've seen quite a few people have the problem intermittently, but only a couple have it permanently. Not sure what caused it, they just said they replaced some internal component.
I had the same problem, restarting helped a couple of times. But the 3rd or 4th time it was permanent and wouldn't even recognize the redmag to reload the firmware. Had to send it to RED. They fixed it and had it back to me in a few days.
i think i have the same problem. even since the day i got the camera. but since i live in Turkey i am really wondering how will i re-send it to red to be fixed.
i have the same problem and i am using 3.0.7. it gives split screen (black) or noisy (blues, green etc) screen in opening . In case i record something recorded files are corrupted and it is not possible to play back them. So i sent the log files to RED and they asked the camera back but since i live in Turkey it is a HUGE cost and procedure for me.
I downgraded to ver 3.0.0 and it seems problem disappear for almost 7 days. But i am not sure if it will be happen again..
any suggestion will be appreciated.
