    Hello,

After reading through the various posts on power solutions, I am deciding to go with the Red Brick and BATTERY BELT CLIP (DSMC).
To me though clipping pieces onto a belt seems a bit unintuitive, has anyone found a way to mount or sleekly attach this batter clip mount to a cheeseboard of any sort for mounting on a shoulder rig? I know Red Sells a base-plate with this exact purpose, but it costs nearly twice as much.

Wasn't sure if anyone has tried this, mostly just curious.

It looks like the screws will match up on the backpack quick plate with the belt clip plate. I purchased the backpack plate and got the x plate and it works great!

As Patrick said, get the x Red Battery Back Plate. I have this and WC's Quick Back all mounted to the Red Battery Belt Clip (DSMC). All that was necessary was to disassemble the belt clip plate from the battery back and then attach it to the x items. Now I can move the whole thing from the back of the camera to a "A-Lock" mounted just about anywhere I want, Tripod, shoulder rig, etc. Works great and very quick to move. I originally bought the belt clip from Red when all other V-lock solutions were out of stock. Now I am glad that I did. The length of the cable gives a lot of options.

    Hey Tom or Patrick,

I'm thinking of trying this out. Can you clarify which screws you need to remove? Is it the the 2 philips screws that hold the clip onto the back plate or are you removing the star screws form the battery-side of the belt clip?

    Cheers,
    Mondo

Any photos of this in practice?

I'm currently running Redvolts and am looking for a Brick solution... but I don't want to mount to my Epic (will probably have to end up getting the Pro I/O) so I don't want to get used to bricks on the camera (would rather rail mount or use the A lock).

This is also the direction I am going. Looks like the best of all worlds. Will need to mount a nice clip for the cable when it's attached on the back though.

x has a video showing the install of their red plate on to RED back pack quick plate. Mondo, you are going to have to take off the screws that are accessed from the battery mount side.

i have one of the belt clip plates as well. i like not having the weight of the battery on the camera. but the plate does come apart pretty easily with a few screws. perhaps drill out a hole and put a rod mount on it like this http://www.x.com/tiny-versal-15mm-lw
