    Heres a snapshot: http://www.mindcraftstudios.com/R3D_Grade.zip

Can you pros chime in, and teach me how to get this R3D looking good in RedcineX? The current grade is too noisy. Don't worry, I'm not going for any certain "look," just want a nice, clean grade showing natural colors & skintone.

this is as good as I could get it in RedcineX. Could probably get it a lot more refined in Resolve. The main problems with the shot is 1) shot in tungsten 2) underexposed in tungsten at 800ISO which leaves little room to boost the image without noise. Under tungsten you need more light than when lit with daylight balanced sources. With a little noise reduction this shot should be fine out of RedcineX but like I said Resolve could probably handle it better as it has more in depth tools and secondaries.

Define a good grade? And yes, there's a lot of noise....I did two. One in RCX and one in Resolve. For the Resolve version I used noise reduction quite heavily (neat video).

Here's a bit more effort in RCX....I can send you the RMD if you like. You'll never get rid of that noise though....did you know you were shooting so underexposed? Don't mean to be rude, but just so it doesn't happen again is all I'm saying.

    Mine ;-)

Not trying to do any special look. But getting an acceptcable picture without changing too much the light mood. So I kept the Yellow/Red tint. Going toward Blue (against yellow) would have kiked the noise.

The shot is underexposed 4 to 5 stops (with 800 asa as a base) if you would have liked to have RGB values at the same level (white ballanced).

Yousuf this shot is pushing the saving ability of RAW capture to the limit. As others have said this is badly underexposed.

This sort of problem is beyond Redcine. It is a great program but not built to save shots to this degree.

This is what a program like Resolve can do with a few nodes.

Covert to B&W . . . the noise becomes "filmic grain" and you become a hipster artist

Ha Ha. I do this with my photography all the time. Especially when you over expose.

Thanks guys, I figured the shot was too underexposed to fix, but I wanted to see under this circumstance how to get the cleanest look. You guys did a much better job than I did. Especially when using Resolve + noise reduction.

Patrick, did you use a lot of noise reduction in this? How does the noise hold up at higher res (4K)?
