    Plus one to audio playback? Also I looking forward to activate the gyro.

    Does 5k hd, 3k hd mean 16:9?
    Is quad hd to close to 4k so it was no point to make a 4k 16:9?

    * Added Gyro support

    Jarred, since we'll be working with it enabled in a few days, can you placate us with a bit of info on the "Gyro support" feature and what exactly that is?
    Cheers, that's a bunch of hard work represented in this list of updates :)

    Yeah I'm kind of stymied on this one...
    Can't believe I get paid to do this.

    I may be completely off base here, but I think the gyro support is meta data that helps in stabilizing footage later?

    The Epic will have the ability to record gyro and accelerometer info in the metadata which will be very handy in 3D tracking.

    I suggested about a year ago that RED offer a resolution option for Epic that gives us enough pixels for a clean 1080P decode/scale (I would think around 1,280 vertical), but no more, to maximize the "clean" FPS rate. For some projects its essentially invisible when you take a 1,024 vertical pixel image and up-rez it into a 1080 timeline, but not always, especially if there is a bit more noise in the oft used 2K-WS, 300fps image to start with. 3K is the usual compromise, but at 150fps its not much more over crank than 4KHD at 120fps so I rarely use it.

    Perhaps a 1,280 by 2,560 2:1 (2.5K) frame could get up to 200FPS+ and fill the gap between 4K@120 and 2K-WS@300? With the higher data rate RedMags in the pipeline, this could lead to lower compression 1080 output with no up-rezzing at frame rates enough higher than 120 to expand creative options...

    Or, maybe I am suggesting this so Rob doesn't get any extra time off after this build ships ,-)

    Great, Thanks for the info. 120 fps sounds great. Let's see, how is the image going to hold up.

    2.5k sounds interesting.. will add it to the list.

    Anamorphic is not out of the question for Scarlet..

    Gyro support means we have turned on the sensors... info will be sent to metadata for various programs to work with.. all that work obviously needs to be done as we work with 3rd paries.
