Also curious about that new electronic mount. Why is it preferable over the to be released Red version. Have manual and AF Nikkor glass.

Actually this thread is primarily to let everyone know that the Nikon ProLock for Epic/Scarlet is officially out of back order. In stock and shipping.
The electronic mount/electronic upgrade will be available before the year's end. First we need to send to RED for approval so we can mount it on the camera .

Jacek, from your development process of the drive by wire FF system, can you say if we can expect smooth focusing with nikkors and adjustable "barrel throw"?

Very smooth and repeatable. Plus rotation expansion/compression, direction change, etc..

    Sounds great!

Ideas that you probably thought of already:
Make it easy to power it, and to physically combine the ff with various lcd screens/evf options.
Single operator mount to camera and/or assistant handle for focus puller.
    Hard stops.
Possible physical placement close to redmote or sidehandle to allow for autofocus overrides etc.

Post a list of Nikkors that have no or little image shift.

Combining the wireless FF with Optitek's wireless video solution would be stellar.

Sonar-type distance meter (a la cinetape or microtape) would also be a big help.

Do you guys know about a sonar that could be mounted on the camera with a remote wireless display?
All the units I know of have displays built in..

Wim, this one's easy: if you want anything to do with maintaining manual iris control on your Nikons....then you'll want to have a look at the OptiTek mount...since it is both Manual & Electronic--The NEW Optitek "electronic" mount that is....RED is making their own which I'm sure will be killer, but some of us (i can actually only speak for myself) need manual control as well....RED's mount wil not offer manual control according to a post by Jarred some months ago when i had asked him. I want BOTH.....
