Anyone have suggestions as to how I get out of this one.

I just upgraded my Epic-X to 3.0.6. The reason for this is that I just finished a long project where the camera stayed on 2.0.5 and I wanted to try out my Canon mount which has been sitting in a box for over four months.

The upgrade went fine and on reboot after fitting side handle and Canon Mount, I was able to use my Canon 16-35 fine. Shut the camera down and went to try with a battery in the side handle. On boot up the touch screen was blank. I reverted to mains and although I could hear the fans and the lens motors operate, no picture. I have tried with a second screen, still no picture; and even with the bomb EVF where I just see a chip chart.

There is obviously a firmware glitch and the firmware needs reloading. Is there any way to do a force upgrade now? The new system requires the camera to be up and running with the reload through the maintenance dialogue which needs a screen! Catch 22

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

This can happen when the power of the battery is enough to get the cam started but not to give sufficent power to switch the LCD on...

You can still perform a force upgrade by placing the upgrade .bin in a folder named 'force_upgrade' rather than 'upgrade'.

    Thanks for the replies guys.

Pat, the screen will still not wake up even when I plug the mains adapter in and remove the battery, so I am suspicious especially when this problem has occurred immediately after an uograde.

Trent. Thanks for this info. I will redownload the software and try this tomorrow.

Force upgrade seems to have done the trick. Screen now works.

I will be interested to see how the camera performs with the new build.

    Thanks for the help.
