I just bought a full set of Nikkor 'G' primes, 24 35 50 and 85 f/1.4 for Epic. I would love to see some shots with the D800E. I expect them to be nothing short of spectacular

So why is the AF-S 35mm FX lens so darn expensive compared to the others?

Correction -- why is the 50mm so much cheaper than the 24, 35, and 85mm?

I don't know but it's the best performer of my set, although none of them dissapoint.

David, the 50mm is the only lens in the bunch that isn't Nano-Crystal Coated, which according to Nikon minimizes flare. I asked a rep at NAB about a future redesign of the 50mm with Nano-Crystal and he coulden't give me any info. It is still a fantastic lens. The Canon 50mm 1.4 dosen't even compare, even though they are in the same price range!
