WORKFLOW QUESTION: Onlining a AMA TO DNxHD to original R3DS

Hi,

I'm trying to online a sequence edited with MC6 into Premiere Pro, but it seems impossible to do so, because I've used sub clips and group clips (R3D video with WAV file for audio via auto sync) and neither AAF or EDLs seems to transmit correctly.

Can somebody who has used this workflow outline it to me so I can check what I do wrong?

a) Import reds and wavs via AMA
b) Transcode them to DNXHD36
c) Create group clips from the transcoded shots, via auto sync.
d) Edit
e)Export CMX3600 (using red template) or AAF (link to)
f) Import any of them in Premiere Pro 5.5 and see nothing...

I've also tried via decompose, but nothing new.

Any ideas?.

Can you copy/paste a line of the EDL here to make sure it looks correct?

Hi michael,

Thanks for your help. I've also tried copy/past SOURCE FILENAME to TAPEID but nothing. I get sort of reconform on the image, but the TC's are completely out of sync. Material intercut from 5Ds move seems to conform ok.

Well it appears that the proper sources are in the EDL. I would start testing with a V only EDL and do a picture conform first to make sure you get those events to properly import and link.

Hi Michael,

The problem is that every clip seems to appear in the correct duration but from the clip start, not the timecode in.

Oh... OK. if you want to send me the bin with the sequence in it to michael(at)24p(dot)com I'll take a look at it. Hard to tell without having the actual sequence to contract and compare.
