GoOff is good for lots of adhesives. Lowes, Ace hardware, etc. usually carry it. I try it when nothing else works. Have not damaged any surfaces so far...
Another suggestion:
Goo-Gone Adhesive remover
Costs less than 8 bucks for a 8 oz bottle
One distributor: United Ad Label - you can also find it at many of the many online videotape distributors
Permit me to amend and revise this suggestion I posted yesterday afternoon.
I was browsing through the ops manual today - read the following:
EPIC Operation Guide Rev C (Appendix I, Page 223)
CLEANING
All RED products are designed for rugged durability, but precision instruments demand proper care. Please note the following care guidelines:
WARNING: DO NOT rinse or immerse any element of the camera, lens or other accessory, keep them dry at all times.
WARNING: DO NOT use soaps, detergents, ammonia, acetone, alkaline cleaners, abrasive cleaning compounds, or solvents. These substances may damage lens coatings and electronic circuitry.
CAMERA AND ACCESSORY EXTERIOR SURFACES
Clean ONLY using a dry cloth. When cleaning your camera and accessories, remember that it is not waterproof and moisture can damage electronic circuitry.
Because of the warning notices, I would encourage anyone to post an email to either their BS Rep or to Tech Support before using any solvent or cleaning solution to remove adhesive residue. Tell them the product you are planning on using and wait for an email response. Best to have it documented to avoid a warranty issue.
I believe you are fine as loon as you use a cue tip for the solvant while staying far away from any button, vent, seams, screws, and connectors (basically just on wide metal surfaces of the outer shell, where you would normally find velcro marks).
Also do a test on a tiny portion to see how the paint reacts to the solvant.
