I have run into a problem that I'm sure has an easy solution. I just can't figure out what it is.

We just bought a used second Red-One and, unlike the first one we got directly from Red, when the image in the original EVF and the external monitor appears to be exposed good, the exposure bar at the bottom of the viewfinder reads in the yellow and red. When the bar is in the green, as it's supposed to be, the image is so dark we can hardly see it.

Later when the footage is placed in RedCineX it is severely overexposed.

It is obvious, that there is a setting "somewhere" that controls the intensity and brightness of the viewfinder and monitor, but I can't find it.

Would someone be kind enough to walk me through the steps necessary to correct this problem?

    Thanks for your time.

Could you be viewing "raw" on camera and only in redcine seeing it with metadata? If you set Asa /ISO In Redcine at 320 and it looks ok then likely you were in "raw" mode when you were shooting.

It looks like you may be correct. I put the ISO in RedCineX on 320 and the exposure if fine.

How do I change it OUT of the RAW mode?

    Thanks for your help.

Likey it is a programmed feature of one of the assignable buttons on he camera. There are 3 buttons on eyepiece, two of which are programmable, two on body and if memory serves, one on the LCD. I would first push each of those to see if they toggle you in/out of "Raw" mode.

Raw mode is also indicated by a small indicator in eyepiece or LCD but I can't remember what it is (it is not the big "Raw" on lower left. That's always there).
All my mental pictures of RED one have atrophied since I sold mine or I would tell you how to directly go into menu and turn it off.

If anyone can tell me how to do that via the menu, I'd really prefer doing it that way.

    Thanks.
