I JUST installed it. Didn't do anything with the settings.

Just tried 5kFF and it doesn't like it until its 1/16th res. Big difference, but you have to realize it's another 3rd bigger at something like 13.8mp vs 4k which is like 9mp (I think).

Argument to shoot 4k unless you specifically need that extra resolution maybe...

EDIT: I think the 2.3 has more L3 cache or something as well.

Yes it's the release version, I uninstalled the leaked version a few days ago. Still feel kind of bad about that, like we all jumped the fence at recess or something ;-)

I've been working with Speedgrade for about a week and it's pretty powerful. As always when working with RED footage, be aware of space requirements. When sending your project over to Speedgrade from Premiere, Premiere will be creating DPX files for Speedgade to work with. I think my 60sec. spot was about 12 additional gigs of DPX files. Again, if you've shot RED, you know all about large amounts of data. I would love to work natively in Speedgrade with R3D inside a pre-cut sequence and not just individual files. If it's possible, let me know.

@Adam - The droids you are looking for lay within the power of EDL.

Send to SpeedGrade seems to be a fail safe option mostly designed for formats not natively supported by SpeedGrade, e.g. XDCAM-EX, AVCHD.

For R3D, as Phil says, EDL is the best solution.

Of course, we should look forward to tighter integration between SG and PP in future versions.

How would the color correction wokflow with EDL work?

Any idea on when will be Redcolor 3 be selectable in properties?
