  1. #1 CS6 RED workflow demo
The days of transcoding and debating workflows are gone. CS6 has made red files as easy as working with DSLR files. See for yourself, in the below video I'm able to change any setting on the original r3d file directly in Premire. No REDCINE X or transcoding.

    Exciting times.

And somehow the whole program runs faster, I'm watching at 1/2 quality with no lag. Thank you Adobe and RED!

I know CS6 has a lot of new and interesting additions - but isn't the dialog box shown in the video above the same as that available in CS5.5?
Maybe I'm missing something - but I don't see the difference.

Luis is right... there are performance improvements, but otherwise workflow hasn't changed too much going from 5.5 to 6. That's to say, it was already pretty good in 5.5, and now it's faster :)

I've been using CS6 non-stop for the past 3 hours. All I can say is that somehow they've made what was already a great program even better. SO much faster, more stable, responsive, snappy. I can't even describe how much I'm enjoying it.

Right now I have a timeline with 5k Epic footage, P2 footage, GoPro, AVCHD, and h264. It plays back without ever dropping frames. Even 5.5 had trouble with this kind of stuff. All I can say is WOW

Looks to have a lot more options than the CS5 dialog I'm used to but still leaves me asking why we can't just give ACR a timeline scrubber...

    hehe, don't we all...

i guess that's called RedCine-X - i really don't know why some people say they don't like it... i mean, besides the fact that it's free and being consistently updated - it's got some pretty nice controls in there. i prefer it to the adobe dialog, but it would be real nice if you could pull it up in lieu of that one or be more conveniently connected to the other softwares like ACR, if possible.

Yep, it seems to think as fast as you do, which is great for creative editing and effects work. I was amazed at the performance on my ancient Mac Pro. The good news is that once I upgrade to the supercomputer I'm dreaming up, this thing will scream. Just worked on a SD project (client insisted) and was cutting and doing effects on 20+ layers and I don't even think Premiere knew I was working because it didn't have to do much. Wasn't taxing it at all.

RED at full res, even with a Rocket is pushing it too much on this MP. But 1/2 res is smooth.

I didn't have any issue with REDCINE X but it was an hassle exporting or matching up footage between programs so I'm thrilled I have all the controls in premiere.

And yes this feature was available in CS5.5 but I wasn't ever able to get it to work... go figure.
