I just found out that Red's own lcd is not compatible with any other system out there, but Red (WHY?). I guess I am late with that remark...but better late then sorry.
Since I am using HVX200, and will continue using it, I need something else.
Can anybody suggest a decent LCD that has component, HdSDI and a flip:)
Ohh and costs no more then $2500
    Thanks for help

It's red only because much of the electronics are inside the camera which reduces both weight and power draw tremendously.

The Marshall V-R70P-HDSDI is a nice small 7" monitor.

Thanks Deanan, it's really too bad.
I can imagine there are a lot people in similar situation to mine.
The Marchall is nice, but it has no component...and it will not freakin flip:)

    Thanks

    PANASONIC BTLH80W 7.9" HD LCD Viewfinder/Field Monitor

They cost around 2200.00 bucks. very good monitor. It may need an HDSDI option, but I don't think so. Not sure if you can flip the image, but you can just mount the monitor upside down.

Way more expensive but worth it, Transvideo at around $6k

Albert, I understand your post for a universal format LCD, but just in case......

Have you had a chance to use and hold a RED, and the RED LCD yet?

The thing about the RED LCD is.....

It's unbelievably LIGHT (think feather weight), and Thin, so not much real estate required.

    I love it.

That said, I am hoping RED offers a 2nd version LCD 2x larger with same excellent weight / performance. That would rock and I would use both.

RED's can be configured to be pretty heavy, and as Deanan pointed out, as soon as you start thinking after market on board LCD, your talking pounds of extra weight, and a brick to power it (more pounds) or connecting it to the RED bat supply and draining that down much faster.

Try and find a RED owner that you can visit to check this stuff out before you decide.

    Good point Sam,
I should definitely test it first.
It just may not be an option for me at the time to own both.

Yea I agree with Sam.. The Red LCD is pretty damn cool for its lightness/slim factor.. Plus all you need is one cable for power/monitor..
