So, working on a short film shot on RED. After the grading session, I'm wondering about the DPX printer density option.

What's the difference between Film, Video, and Linear and when to apply the correct option?

Film, killed my colors...
Video, is the most accurate to what you had previewed at the grading session...
and Linear, sorta busts the color a little more.

I know the black and white gamut is different with each one, and thats why color may end up being washed or more punchie.

My question is: what's the best use of this option? If you're grading digitally why is there an option for film? and why and when should I use video or linear?

Thx,
Marco
