Yes, I was thrilled to hear that those uncharacterized lenses worked, as were many other RED users.
But, as RED has stated that they can't characterize every lens, I'd hope that they could pull the data from the lens' chip like Canon cameras, so that they will work with lenses that the firmware is unaware of?
Is that reasonable? To expect they they will work (and continue to work if they once worked) - but just won't have the blinding fast auto focus (that I'm guessing is part of the characterization that RED performs)?
BTW - I've got to throw $500 at a 3rd party SDI -> HDMI converter (money I can't spend at RED), if the HDMI outputs are not going to be working at 1080p24.
If that isn't going to happen, I understand that my priorities are not yours.
But, could you give me some guidance so that I'll know whether to give up and hope a converter works, or wait until the next build?
BTW - love all the new features that my camera keeps getting!!! That certainly didn't ever happen with a Canon camera!!!
I don't see phantom power under my audio settings? Is this because I have an older Epic M?
Thank you for the continued free firmware upgrades!
I'm excited to see so many great features, but I have to say that I'm pleased to see the new options for programming user keys... something I hope I had a little something to do with from feedback given. It's great to see the fruits of a proper company-customer dialogue and relationship.
Thanks again.
Really awesome new features in this! How long do you think it will be before we see a release version of this?
where can I see if phantom power is enabled!?
L.
Sweet!
