We have tracked down the issue with the upgrade process on 3.2.8.

Until we get a fix in, the recommended upgrade path is to use the force_upgrade process...

    1) create a force_upgrade folder on the top level of your SSD
    2) drag the upgrade.bin file into the force_upgrade folder
    3) insert SSD into camera
    4) power up the camera and wait for upgrade to complete. (the green pwr/rec LED's will flash while upgrading and the camera will automatically shut down)

everything will be restored to the proper 3.2.8 settings on the next power cycle.

if you decide to downgrade from 3.2.8 to 3.0.x, we recommend the same procedure.

    Now that's a helpful feature.

You need to have the camera on and then install the REDMag and instruct the camera to update - unlike the other updates where the REDMag is in the camera and then you turn it on. Could this be what's hanging some cameras?

No, the white screen appears anyway.

After a few glitches and "reflashing/reset to default settings"-procedures the new firmware seems to run fine on my scarlet.
The only thing that i'm missing is 5k HD, it's just not there, every other new resolution is in the list.

Glitches aside, i know what beta means, this is a really impressive update. Thank you very much RED!

did you use the "upgrade" folder or the "force_upgrade" folder when attempting the install on start-up?

If we don't see 5k HD should we use the force upgrade option?

No, 5K HD was not included in the scarlet upgrade. The max frame-rate would have had the same 12 fps limitation.

5K HD would still be useful for shooting 16:9 timelapse on the Scarlet. Any chance of seeing it in the next firmware? 5K WS would be nice to see as well.
