I can't get the REDMote Upgrade utility to install. I tried extracting with Windows native decompression and 7-zip and the result was the same both ways. I get a big red X with a popup saying:

    Error opening file for writing
    C:\Program Files (x86)\REDmote\linux.inf
    Click to abort . . .

This is my first attempt to install it because I just received my REDMote a week ago. For kicks I tried the utility for version 2.0.12, and it did not install either. I'm on Windows 7/64 bit.

I had the same problem (same Win7/64bit). I don't have a fix. I just went to another Win7/64bit computer and it installed there. I just haven't trouble shot it yet.

Not much help I know but you are not alone in that problem.

That sounds good. So you haven't had any issues after that? Thanks.

Right click and "run as administrator". Who knows, it might be a permissions thing.

Redmote is now showing signal strenght in colors red, yellow, green.

I have green color with 5 bars only when my Redmote is 10cm from camera. If it's further, it's with 4 bars and it's yellow ...

Signal strenght is poor. Is it SW issue or antena problem?

I found PLC Range Extender, but I don't want to pay $350 for extra antena and I'm not sure about voiding warranty too :-(

Confirmed. I tried a number of Redlink channels, but my signal strength indicacator turns red (1 bar) whenever my Redmote is farther than 1m from the camera.

Jarred, please, implement /i lens data critical focus distance (http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?69319)
should be simple enough math to do, no?

Also, RedMote firmware update removes Focus Dist [m/f] and displays a number, same for aperture display (no decimal, as in 30 instead of 3.0 and 226 instead of 22.6).
Camera: when my default RC is 8:1 and I change framerate to some crazy slo-mo RC changes (though not in all combinations of project res/RC/sensor frames) by it self (nice!) but does not always reflect that, sometimes shows 8 still. After I record in slo-mo with e.g. RC12:1 (forced) and go into playback and display metadata it shows RC8:1 sometimes, my default setting.

that's what I noticed so far

    That worked for me.

Thanks to the whole team for the update - some really great added features. Does anyone have an idea when time lapse will be enabled? It's something I used a lot with the Red One and I miss it :-)
    cheers

I'm not sure if this has been posted, I noticed this on my Scarlet with Beta 3.2.8

Lets say you setup the fan to delay 10 seconds after record stop, then run a long take. The fan will come on automatically once the temp gets high enough, which is expected. If you cut the shot at that point however, the fan will then stop blowing for a few seconds even though the core temp is very high. It would seem likely that you'd want the fan behaviour to override the delay preference in instances where the camera gets very hot.
