  1. #21 RGB level trouble
    HI,

I did some batch process as TIFF, DPX, Open EXR and CINEON files, look at them in photoshop. The RGB level don't match perfectly.
I din't use OPLF filter and noise reduction, didn't chage scale, only export 4K files.
I Had also tried with OPLF and noise reduction, I had the same result.

When you look at each level very quick in photoshop at 100% (keyboard shortcut apple 1, 2, 3 ) you can see they don't match.

I know Red Cine is a betha version (082) but such a thing is a big trouble for sharpness and on such file you have to make the level match on post prod...
I will send a 300dpi jpegs file so you will have a look on it, but I have to wait until I got an answer from the people who gave me the R3D file.

Is any one got the same trouble or could have a look.
    Thank
    David

Testing a new PC build (see log for details)
Color: OLPF Comp: so far only NR seems to work, Sharpen & Detail give no visual change on screen (Fullres. High)
Snapshot fails (log reports ERROR: JPEG: 'Bogus input colorspace')

Q? How does one alter the environment variables for default location of files...

If I have more than a couple 4k files (say more than 3 min worth of footage) in the library the interface begins to have freezes ranging anywhere from a few seconds to 30 seconds or more in length. This is just moving thumbnails & moving between menu Items with no playback. If I have to playback, even in 1/4 res medium I get a blank (blue) image after a few seconds of playback. Removing files from the timeline and restarting redcine is the only way to get the image back.

If you change the snapshot output format to tif you can create a snapshot - but no go as jpeg

Sharpness settings default to 2.0 for each clip even after I change them.

An issue that is repeated a lot.

Seems like when processing over 20 clips in Redcine, all at the same frame rate and resolution, Redcine will ouput them all into separate folders if you choose that, then each quicktime will either be a still image or a black screen. Redcine pref must be trashed at this point. I cut down the # of clips to 7 and was ok. I really can't wait for this program to be stable. It is such a great piece of software and that is its one weak point, but those are all things that will only improve with time

Same issue with sharpness. It doesn't work on any files format I have tried ; DPX, OPEN EXR, CINEON, TIFF, JPEGS

When I export files, many times the sofware freezes, preview is full of colors or simply outputs black frames. I tried many different Video cards and systems. (this is all on XP)

    Computer

MAC PRO 2.8 8Core new versions bought this past week.
    FCP 6.0.2
OSX 10.5.1 scared to update into 10.5.2
    QT 7.4
    5GB ram
ATI Radeon HD 2600 graphics card
    SATA internal drives
Things seemed pretty ok. I was able to export files as ProRes 422 and 422HQ I felt things are generally working as expected.

Yesterday was talked into switching back to QT 7.3
Followed a posting on how to do that and I did it.
Then when ever I exported a clip from REDCINE the video was frozen and just lines up and down the screen in QT view.
I tried it a few more times in different ways and same bad results.
I re-updated to QT 7.4 and things are working ok so it seems.

Id love to know what your thoughts are on this.
And I hope my post was of used to you guys.

    Thanks
    Luis
