Anyone signed up? Share your experiences so far...

Ive been trying to understand this: is the software installed directly on my computer, or are you running it through a network? Let's say I have a very powerful desktop computer: How does the Cloud utilize my system hardware, will I feel any limitations on the Cloud that a direct installation may not?

Sounds interesting, but given that Adobe requires 1 year contract with an early termination penalty, I want to be sure it'll perform as good (if not better) as the direct installation.

The apps install directly on your computer. Your computer just needs to access the "online world" once a month, to check the subscription status. I love it so far...can't wait for more features coming soon. :-) Adobe FTW!

So therefore, the apps are actually running on your hardware, and there's no network lag.

    That sounds AWESOME.

Lots to download. There is a new adobe applications manager that allows you to choose what apps to load and install. They install just like older installs.

Does the software keep working after the subscription ends?

You only need to be online once every 30 days.

I jumped on the cloud. I am on a year long film contract and wanted to give it a go, saw a deal for 29 bucks a month for 12 months and figured I could not beat that. Last copy of ADOBE i owned was CS3 academic which they says does not apply to the deal but when I signed it it said I approved and you get full access to the master collection among other cloud services. Smooth sailing so far other then a broken adobe downloading manager, quick fix is just download any trial version which is the actual full program and when you launch it, there is an option to validate, sign in with your cloud ID and Voila! I am quite happy with the concept, allows me to get get a bargain deal on a license for the durration of my project....I just hope my internet is not down on some day where it tries to connect and then screws me, thats the kind of thing that scares me about cloud concepts.

You only have to have internet access once every 30 days to check license info. It's not dependent on the cloud to do anything else.
