Recently gini rigs started selling and sold several cages for Scarlet on ebay (it should work for EPIC also).
Would be nice to see a review on the:
    - quality of finish
    - is the spacing for thread holes according to RED standard?

Anyway for now it looks like the most affordable option.

How much did you pay for it? Seems pretty similar price wise to the RED version.

Greg, what is size and spacing of the holes? Do they match RED's spacing?

I had some hands on time with a GINI dslr rig today. It's a direct copy of the Zacuto stuff. Pretty good effort though, it's almost as if they got hold of the Zacuto CAD data.

Build quality is surprisingly good. Not Zacuto quality but close. The Scarlet cage is a very obvious copy of the Brook Willard plate except without a NATO profile on the side rails.

Looks like they have a copy of the Cinevate Durus follow focus too.

The NATO rails are one of the best things about the Brook Willard / VF cage.

Do you think that the side handles and the base plate are compatible with a TACTICAL TOP PLATE ?

Looks like a waste of time. The x stuff is farrrr better, and not really expensive. And there is The Viewfactor stuff as well...

Eh I won one for a little over $300, figured it was worth a shot at 1/3 the price of the next cheapest set up. I used a lot of his rigs on my 5D and have his follow focus as well and was pretty impressed by both, hopefully the scarlet stuff will be just as good.
