I would not trust that bridgeplate for the world.

It doesn't look like it has a QR system, so tightening down two knobs to secure it on the dovetail seems very fishy to me. I have no idea why they didn't directly copy x's design as they're quite notorious for this already...

I would like to know how it performs though.

Yes, looks like maybe they copied Innocinema in that regard. http://eu.innocinema.com/product_inf...roducts_id=124
"The dovetail brake is controlled with a fingerscrew. This makes accidental release - that can happen with single lever bridge plates - impossible."

Ah so it does look like they copied someone. I guess business as usual then.

If this lives up to the standard of rod locking that's present on all of his other gear, then it actually might be worth the hassle of tighting and untighting the knobs to get the dovetail on/off. I'm used to QR bridgeplates, but I guess this isn't bad for the person who doesnt have to often pull their rig off the dovetail or adjust for every single piece of kit added.

GiniRig seems to build stuff then improve the design as they go.

So Nils I reckon you got the 1st prototype of this design. I saw it on Ebay but wasn't sure about the lack of dovetail safety locking. I reckon this will be added on newer versions.

In regards to everyone bemoaning how Ginirigs rips off other designs, he actually doesn't. Zacuto & Ginirig rail clamps are totally different, only similarity the red knobs. The "I Focus" FF yes looks similar to Cinevate "Durus " but when you compare the 2 side by side totally different the only similarity is the diameter of the wheel & even thats different. The cages again different to competitors products.

There has been some wild claims on this thread but at the end of the day this stuff is well built matching or surpassing in quality a lot of the competitors stuff in fact its better built than a lot of chinese or indian products or some US product made in china which are knock offs. Apparently this is unethical....go figure.
