I seem to have encountered a bug: I sent an offline edit sequence as XML from FCP7 to RCX-P 14, all worked well. I then exported "timeline separate clips" from RCX in online quality (QT ProRes4444) with 50 frame handles in the export settings and "generate FCP XML" turned on. However, when I import the XML from RCX back into FCP, the clips on the timeline have been slipped by 50 frames. That is, if on my timeline I had a clip where the starting timecode of the clip was 10:45:23:17, it has now become 10:45:25:17. The clips are otherwise placed correctly in the sequence and their durations are what they should be. But for some reason they've all slipped 50 frames.

As this was just a short test sequence, I can fix all the slips by hand, but I've got a longer project coming up soon that needs handles when going from RCX-P to online, so if there's a way to fix this it would be appreciated.

I may have encountered another bug; I also exported XML's from FCP7 and imported into RCX b14. The correct clips relinked, but every clip is exactly 2 seconds off. It was fine yesterday when I did the exact same workflow, with the exception of two clips, exactly 2 seconds off.

    Thanks Mathew and Jaakko,

We'll be looking at these issues for the next build.

    Cheers,

I also tried the separate clips function and over my 16 minute short 2/3 of my clips were massively shorted. this occurred mostly with difference in video layers clips less so on clips of the same layer. Came out of FCP as XML into RCP CC time line clips Export timeline with separated clips. imported RCP XML big holes in my time line.

    A suggestion.
It would be hugely helpful to be able to see tagged stills as separate clips or to be able to put them in a stills specific bin to be able to look through them or apply batch changes for export etc.

Red Player is an awesome little app. I have this idea of how it could be super useful for clients in DSMC 'Cinephotography'. Could you add the ability to drop markers?

    I imagine as such...
-I turn over footage and copy of Redplayer to client
-Clients opens pkg, drools, picks jaw off floor, sets markers of desired still moments
    -Emails me the .RMD files
-I open in RCXPro, grade and process

Now that I typed that out, I realize it'd also make sense for them to quickly tab through all the clips in a project then batch email me the RMDs. At that point, maybe it'd make sense to just add a feature to RCXPro to arrange itself into a less intimidating 'DSMC Review Station'? Sort of Red Lightroom Light?

Thoughts? RCXPro is super powerful, but intimidating upon first open, I want something that takes a client nearly no time to figure out and can easily drop markers to signify what they want.

Just had a bit of a weird issue. I'm shooting today on an Epic (4k HD, 5:1) and am transcoding to prores422 HQ as we go. On a few clips I've had a weird flicker that played back in the quicktime renders, when I went back to the R3Ds in recine x 14 they had the same flicker. I restarted redcine and they played back fine, re-transcoded them and they were fine.

Anyone else have this happen? seems to happen only to graded shots, from time to time. Little annoying because I have to go through each render to make sure there is no flicker.

I have this happening too. I don't have it on REd ONE MX, but ALL of my previous Scarlet and Epic Clips have a weird blue flicker every other frame. You can see images here. However, no restart or reseating or reinstalling of firmware helped fix it.

I probably have to send my Rocket in for evaluation.

You know what Thomas, I don't really have the blue flicker BUT what I notice now having time to look at it it flickers from the meta data to the graded shot back and forth, quite quickly too.

happens when you play it back in redcine x 14 and in the prores transcode, but I restarted redcine and it was gone and transcoded out fine with the grade as well. example:

it flickered back and forth form this to this.
