Even, and that is such a GIGANTIC "EVEN" Film was to be made better, and I mean way better, with so much less grain it would become Grainless, I would NEVER use film... PERIOD!!

Why would I want to go back, no I go forward in life, always!!

We are not just talking image quality here, which is to me the most important aspect, but we are also talking about the entirety of the process, and what goes with it... Film? No Thanks!!
Well, there is a lot to be learned from the past. I'm sorry but i still like film MUCH better. Is it practical? No. Does it look yummy? Yes. Is there more to life than grainless ultra-sharpness? I hope so...

Don't get me wrong, i own a ton of Reds, but still, nothing beats real film.

Speak for yourself... Don't say WE. Film is very sincere and true to the art form. The business module maybe dead, but film is far from dead. I can assure you that Film is still superior in all aesthetic ways to Digital. I don't shoot film anymore and will probably not shoot it again, but I will always love to pay to watch a movie shot on film. I always seem to want to wait for a digital production to come to cable

It's obvious from the trailer that film is indeed dead. Just a fact, pure and simple.

I watched a restored print of Kubrick & Alcott's Barry Lyndon last night at Arclight. 3 hours of pure cinematic bliss.
And this is all I could say. Film is dead, long live the Film.

Please stop with the film is dead nonsense. It is only in the past year with the release of the Epic, Alexa, and Sony 35 that digital has been a serious threat to film. All of these digital cameras are still trying to achieve that film look. It is only now that digital has come close to equaling the resolution, look, and dynamic range of film. Digital now has some advantages over film ie, more resolution cleaner images for FX work, but film has yet to be beaten

Over the next 5 years film will lose its foothold as the #1 way to shoot movies (it's already happening). It will become a choice just like shooting on digital. Then digital will be close enough to equalling what film can do, and will be far cheaper to use and film will slowly fade away. Digital will take over and film will become a novelty. Once film processing can no longer survive film will die.
