With all these rumors about an iMac with 5120x2880 resolution, would this suffice as a 4k plus display on the cheap?
I cant get around the fact that its still an 27 inch screen.
Would it make more sense if it was at least an 60 inch display?
Editing R3D on the old 30 inch Apple Cinemas to date and would like to see something better in the future :)

oooh yeah.... I tested a 4k TV logic a month ago... about 30inches.. it looked so sharp, it was almost real life.
If MAC bring out a 5120 monitor, I'm going to buy it so quick my nose will bleed.

it makes sense cause the higher res thew monitor, the closer you can sit to it and it still stays sharp. the closest panel you sit to day in and day out is your computer display. computer displays transitioning to 4k panels is a natural course of action.
using thunderbolt for the displayport tech to deliver this high resolution is also showing a lot of foresight on apple's part.
and now for a new tower... please...
