A growing popularity is remotely controlling cameras that are in difficult locations, This is now my preference. F65 has a full menu control and a control panel over IP. This has become increasingly more demanded when a crane needs to descend to change a setting. I can become much more invisible and prepared, in addition to saving enormous amounts of time. because I dont need to wait 'my turn' to get my hands into the camera. Since the Red currently has far more settings than the F65, I'd like to have the same ability. Wireless is usually lame and the Redmote doesn't have a decent range and usually falls off after about 20 ft. The Red Body has an ethernet connector and there are settings in the Menu for Static and DHCP. Red really needs a Web Gui (not an ipad app) to control their camera systems. Not everybody will use this option, but the big movies will. I especially will use it, all my control for many components is over IP. It would be a wonderful addition to Red's current customization available in the Camera menu.
The Web Gui will need to have full menu control and a Live monitoring panel with Voltage, media Remaining, Fan Settings, Timecode, Enabled items (genlock, sync, Raw mode, Exposure check mode, etc..)
Another great idea would be uploading looks remotely, Rolling the camera, shutdown, and startup over LAN. This would allow me to Roll a camera up to but not limited to 2KM away with Ethernet over Fiber Optic.
Obviously, this would be the ultimate monitoring solution for DITs.
