While there's something not so nice in this, the truth is Facebook also helped people to organize, share and develop ideas as well as create movements that actually changed the world. I don't know I that was good or bad, manipulation can easily take place in Facebook, but it is undeniably something that changed our world. Just like Red changed ours (filmmaking).

I'd rather have an expensive piece of metal with glass in front sitting on my desktop for days without it making money, than spending a single dime on thin air.

Jim, it's always great to wake up to another one of your late night posts! Miss the olden days ... when these popped up every second day. ;)

Jim and Sérgio (saúda os amigos de Macau por mim / greet Macao portuguese friends on my behalf :-)
...both are correct, with a difference:
you Jim, deliver hardware (with proprietary software inside : ) Mark_Zuckerberg, dreamware ;-)

Despite the fact that seen from inside, some market makers have a different opinion and even see it as a disappointment if compared with the day after of other IPOs born on the web, I think we should all concur 420+ millions of stock shares sold are such a figure... (I know a portuguese who alone bought 1 million of euros, not bucks ;) FB got US $16 billions this week, becoming the 3rd one in history, only beaten by General Motors (car industry!) and VISA (financial sector...), well ahead of AT&T (communications) though. But needs to reach in 2020 more than 900 billions of dollars to pair up with Google, when today worths (only!) 100 billions. Will it be as much of a success as expected in less than 10 years then? (it is quite of a gap... is there 800% of room to grow up yet?)

FB also made U2's Bono to join now the billionaires club (as same as you did but with Oakley : ) from his bet of US $90 millions with his pairs in Elevation Partners only two years ago -- and in that time, everyone considered rather stupid...

    :P

In any case, never before an internet-based business had reached so high a position at first glance.
No surprise anyone (including a self-made man like you Jim, but made from tangible stuff ;) may show a certain shock : D

Yes you did and I went and checked the supermarket for Chewing Gum without it here in Dubai, and could not find a single
brand, so have stopped chewing gum.

Had a few symptoms which were related to to Aspartame, have stopped for the last few months and viola it's gone.

Thanks and Regards for that tip Jim.

Hehe yes you did. And I've been spreading the word after reading up on it. How's your aspartame free life working out for you? After your sentence it seems you're doing much better! :)
