Morning Jim, I imagine Facebook will be gone in the next ten years.
Just wrapped a shoot at 2:30 AM and I find a Zinger of Truth from Jim. Facebook may have its place, but it scares me. I can't trust anything that is so big...
"In another exchange leaked to Silicon Alley Insider, Zuckerberg explained to a friend that his control of Facebook gave him access to any information he wanted on any Harvard student:
ZUCK: yea so if you ever need info about anyone at harvard
ZUCK: just ask
ZUCK: i have over 4000 emails, pictures, addresses, sns
FRIEND: what!? how’d you manage that one?
ZUCK: people just submitted it
ZUCK: i don’t know why
ZUCK: they “trust me”
ZUCK: dumb fucks "

I wish I was making the above up but that was taken from an actual IM conversation Zuckerberg had with a friend back in 2004.
The link to the New Yorker article this is from is below the quote. That conversation is reported on page 3 of the story.
Jim Jannard is on the mark with this.
I would stay away from FB like Aspartame too.
Hope this thread stays alive though.

I was shooting a piece this week in a school district that allows PDAs , phones etc, on their own network. Out of the 60,000 students, apparently virtually none of them use Facebook, only twitter. I give it 4 years.
As someone who lives in a different country to most of my friends and family... Facebook has changed my life, I now feel a part of their lives again.
They might be a bit dodgy.... But they changed the world.
