I don't think my recently picked up Mobile RED Rocket from MAXX Digital is working correctly with Premier Pro CS6. Every time I load a clip into the viewer, I get the missing media yellow screen. I click to play the clip, then it plays 1 frame...I hit pause, then it jumps to where the marker is at.

Operating the latest RR firmware. Enabled the RR in Premier Pro via the "source settings" under an R3D within the project pane.

    Any assistance greatly appreciated!!

Just my $.02, I had little joy with playback using the Mobile Rocket when we had it months ago. 1/2 debayer was.... ok, not great. It was greatly limited by the Express3/4 connector, a 1x lane PCI connection.

We would rely on the mobile rocket strictly for transcoding dailies and not playback. I know that doesn't answer your question, just thought I'd throw that in.

Are you serious? You have this five thousand dollar card and you can't even get i to playback for you?

So can you editing in 1/2 or full res with CS6 with a RR?

On a Mac Pro(3.1) with RR, GT120 and GTX285 I am getting smooth playback at 1/2 and smooth as butter at 1/4. Not sure about the Mobile and Premiere. But CS 6 is working really well with RED footage.

Yeah I am hearing CS6 works well even without a RR.

I get great playback at 1/2 res for 4k and 1/4 res for 5k. Rocket, CS6 on MacPro HexCore, 16GB RAM

Hi Chris - did you ever get your playback issue using RedRocket inside Premiere Pro 6 fixed? I am having the exact same issue - yellow missing media screen, jumping to where the playback head ends up after playing - but ONLY with 5K HD footage. 5K FF and 4K footage plays back no problem. Interestingly, I'm on a Mac Pro early 2008, not using a mobile rocket like you describe. Thanks for any info!

The RR playback issues (I can get 1/8 res playback with card, 1/4 without). I now use the card for transcoding only.

Chris, your MBP is a few years old as well, correct?

Zach, are you sure there isn't some scaling or a wonky setting somewhere? I don't see a difference between 5k and 5kHD on any of my I7+ or newer workstations here.... IMO, you really should be using a 8 core Nehalem / I7 processor if you do a lot of rendering / output with 5k RED.
