    Hi,

Sorry if this is a stupid question. We are using a cable cam with an EPIC on next week and they have a wireless monitor. The setup only has a composite cable input. Is it possible to get an output via composite from the EPIC or do we need to use some kind of converter??

Any help would be much appreciated!

I think you need to convert - You need a SDI (or HDMI) to analog (composite) converter. There are a few options - I think every one here likes the decimator ( www.decimator.com )

I have quite a few of the Black Magic mini converters. http://www.blackmagic-design.com/pro...ers/techspecs/ . I made a D-TAP to BMD to power the converter, but they have units now that have built in batteries [edit: looks like the battery converters are only sdi to hdmi and hdmi to sdi at the moment]. No idea how long the charge on those guys will last.. I think they were announced at NAB.

AJA makes mini converters as well.

(Disclaimer, I have never used a cable cam, but I am up to my eyeballs in old composite tech :-) )

You would need one of these, the EPIC does not have composite, only HDMI or HDSDI out. http://www.amazon.com/HDMI-Composite...7654967&sr=8-2

I would read the reviews and see which one would work the best for your needs.

Wow Robert! Great link.. I had no idea a low cost option like that existed. I may have a bit more life in my old Marshall's after all

I had to change out the regulator so I could use the standard v-mount and AB batteries. but if you just use the supplied plug in power you dont neeed to mod it and it works just fine:-)
