  1. #1 SSD Format Failure URGENT
I am on location with a rental customer, providing tech support for my EpicX and one of my two 32GB SSDs is refusing to format. It keeps saying that the format has failed. Does anyone know what can be done. What is my next step. I'm using the latest release build (3.0.7) and the problems SEEMED to start after switching to the Canon mount. Thanks.

You could try wiping it in the computer and then formatting.

Where can we buy 32GB SSD cards? The Red Store doesn't seem to have them listed yet.

Shut down the camera. Pull the card and put it back in. Restart the camera. Just like an old Nintendo.

Do you have to blow into the cartridge?

And I meant 256GB Cards... not 32GB. My brain is in slight stress mode.

Thanks guys. I tried restarting about 3 times... still no joy. Can't put on Firmware because my mac isn't recognizing it as Red Media... even disk utility doesn't seem like it could erase it. Was working just fine yesterday and earlier today. Everything started going flakey after the switch to the Canon mount and playing back some overcranked footage in camera. Freezing. All very embarrassing in front of a new customer. :(

Go on a MAC, insert the SSD in the Red Station and then go in to "Disk Utility". Once in "Disk Utility" format the disk using FAT32. This will mount the SSD on the desktop. Remove from Red station and insert in camera. Format the drive in camera. That should work.

EDIT: not FAT 32... do "MSDOS FAT"
