Loving AE using R3Ds directly. Noticed a couple of things:

    1. Sometimes I will get dropouts (black slug) or incorrect frames (jumps 10 seconds later for one frame then back to normal.) I have discovered by tweaking the metadata (INTERPRET/MORE, make a small change) it resets and the error goes away. This is good but means I need to chase down problems by rendering, watching for issues, addressing them one by one, then rendering again. Anyone else come across this?

    2. This has already been mentioned, but I'm also getting the "flicker bug" where adding an exposure or color effect, the clip sometimes flickers in and out randomly.

    3. Getting some minor crashes when doing heavy work, but nothing I can't handle for the moment.

Hi Jim - I haven't experienced any of these personally which is why I didn't chime in earlier :(

Regarding the flicker bug, is it limited to particular effects?

Me too been sitting on the fence watching as I only just got CS6 on Monday still getting a feel. Premier is a big improvement. AE not sure yet .

With the "flicker bug", you mentioned it appears around exposure or a colour effect......are you grading within AE & can it be avoided by not using those effects or is it more random.

Thanks guys. Haven't messed around enough to know what causes the flicker bug. I'm not grading, just balancing composited layers to each other and other normal stuff.

Everything is chromakeyed, don't know if that's adding to it.

These are pretty full on projects, with a lot happening. Don't know if the issues rise and fall with complexity or not.

Good to know it's not a widespread issue so I'll keep digging on this side to see if I come up with anything.

All on the Mac, don't think I menioned that before.
